If you want a complete smile makeover and lasting results, talk to Dr. Glenn Sperbeck about holistic veneers treatment options. Restoring teeth with veneers can completely transform your smile and give you white, straight, and natural-looking teeth without braces or surgery.

WHAT ARE PORCELAIN VENEERS?

If Dr. Sperbeck decides that restoring teeth with veneers is the right option for you, you may be wondering what benefits holistic veneers offer over other cosmetic treatments. Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin shells made with a tooth-colored material. They are placed tightly over the surface of your teeth and can completely change your teeth’s appearance, color, shape, size, and length.

Dental veneers are designed to resist stains better than other types of veneers and appear much more natural because they mimic the way light naturally reflects off the surface of the teeth. The holistic veneers treatment designed by Dr. Sperbeck ensures that restoring teeth with veneers leads to results that can last up to 10 years.
HOLISTIC VENEERS PROCEDURE

Restoring teeth with veneers typically requires three visits to the dentist. The first visit is a consultation appointment where Dr. Sperbeck will examine the teeth and discuss the results you want to achieve. He can explain how the procedure works and what results you can expect from the treatment.

On your second appointment, your teeth will be prepared for the veneers. Dr. Sperbeck will need to remove about 1/2 millimeter of enamel from the surface of the tooth to accommodate for the thickness of the veneer to be added to the surface of the tooth. After the enamel is removed, he will take an impression of your teeth. This impression will be used to create your veneers.

Approximately three weeks later, you will come back for your third appointment to have the veneers placed. Dr. Sperbeck will hand shape and trip the veneer to fit perfectly on the tooth, and will also adjust the color to create the most natural look. Your teeth will be cleaned, polished, and etched to ensure each veneer is strongly bonded to your tooth. Next, the dental veneer will be applied to the teeth using a cement that bonds after a special light beam is directed over it, activating chemicals in the cement. This ensures that the dental veneer is placed in exactly the right position before it is bonded to the tooth. The entire procedure typically takes several hours.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR RESTORING TEETH WITH DENTAL VENEERS?

Veneers can be used to fix a number of common cosmetic problems and can help to improve your smile. Holistic veneers treatment can be a very attractive alternative to cosmetic surgeries for the following issues:

• Worn down enamel

• General wear and tear of the teeth

• Genetics

• Uneven teeth

• Permanent stains

• Discolored teeth

• Teeth that are dissimilar in shape or contour

All types of patients may qualify for porcelain veneers, but those who do not smoke or those that have weak teeth are not candidates for the procedure. If you have periodontal disease, tooth decay, or missing teeth, Dr. Sperbeck may recommend orthodontic work before veneers can be placed. If your teeth are functionally and esthetically adequate, Dr. Sperbeck may recommend seeking alternative forms of treatment because veneers require removing some of your natural tooth structure.

CARING FOR PORCELAIN VENEERS

Porcelain veneers look and feel very much like your natural teeth, but you need to take good care of them to prevent damage. Dr. Sperbeck will provide you with care instructions before treatment, and may recommend that you avoid foods like raw carrots that may cause some shock to the veneer. You may also need to wear a sleep guard to protect your teeth from teeth grinding problems while sleeping. Keeping up with your brushing and flossing routine, and following good oral hygiene procedures will lengthen the lifespan of your veneers.
